El Gouna is one of the most luxurious tourist resorts located on the Red Sea coast in Egypt, and is considered the ideal destination for fans of calm, harmony, elegance and luxury.

Information about El Gouna

El Gouna Tourist Resort is located on the Red Sea coast, specifically in Hurghada. It is distinguished by being at a very close distance from Hurghada International Airport, estimated at 22 km. El Gouna is also distinguished as a destination and an ideal place for fans of privacy, tranquility and harmony, which makes it a destination for the elite groups of society.

The prestigious coastal city is located 20 km north of Hurghada. The project started as an idea in 1990 AD, it was implemented by Orascom Hotels Management, which succeeded in transforming a mere desert land to the most famous and attractive Egyptian city for tourism. This charming city combines between the picturesque nature and the arts of distinctive architectural designs, due to the help of international expertise during the construction process, so that El Gouna became ideally compatible with international tourism, and among these expertise is the American engineer “Michael Graves”, who won many international awards.

El Gouna consists of a group of small islands connected to each other and the Red Sea coast through stone bridges to facilitate the process of movement by boat, which in itself is one of the tourist activities that visitors enjoy, as well as diving, fishing, skiing, sailing and parachuting.

El Gouna includes two distinct beaches, “Zeytuna Beach” and “Mangroovy Beach”, most of the residential units there, including chalets and villas, have distinctive views of private beaches, due to the presence of many water channels there.

El Gouna also includes six neighborhoods: “Marina Town”, “Golf Neighborhood”, “Mediterranean Neighborhood”, “Nubian Neighborhood”, “Italian Neighborhood” and “Hadaba Neighborhood”, in addition to 3 central areas that include shopping centers, restaurants and other services, they are “Downtown”, “Tamr Henna Square” and “Abu tig marina”, and there are more than 18 luxury hotels and resorts in El Gouna.

El Gouna is not just a tourist resort, but it features many other activities such as artistic, cultural and sports activities, as El Gouna Sports Club and Stadium was established in 2003 AD, and the Library of the Embassy of Knowledge was opened in 2008 AD. In addition to the presence of a small museum, inside which there is an exhibition of the contemporary Egyptian plastic artist “Hussein Bicar”. El Gouna also hosted an international competition for golf, and world championships in squash.

In 2017, El Gouna International Film Festival was organized, the most prominent artistic and cultural event in its history, which is held annually in the presence of the brightest stars and artists and includes huge collections of the most important international cinematic productions. It also features three main competitions: the Feature Narrative Film Competition, the Short Narrative Film Competition, and the Documentary Film Competition.

Hotels and resorts

It is considered as a luxurious palace with its elegant and dazzling designs and shapes, it was designed by Amr Khalil. The palace is characterized by the design of its facade in the Venetian style, mosaic columns and marble floors inspired by the Church of St. Marks, and due to the fact that it is characterized by luxury and classicism, it includes a valuable collection of European antique furniture, and decorations dating back to the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The hotel includes 11 luxurious suites ranging in size from 80:120 square meters with a variety of views of the Red Sea or desert landscapes, 5 premium suites ranging in size from 80:120 square meters with distinct mountain views or the the Red Sea, and 6 super premium suites with areas ranging from 80: 120 square meters with great views of the Red Sea or the surroundings of the hotel itself.

In addition to “LE RESTAURANT” restaurant, which serves delicious European and local dishes and features a view of the Red Sea, and “POOL BAR” with its attractive view of the hotel’s swimming pool, which serves various types of drinks.

The hotel has classic rooms which contain a guest room with lagoon views, guest rooms with partial Red Sea views, deluxe rooms with Red Sea views, junior suites, and presidential suites.

The hotel includes “Oriental 1001” restaurant that serves delicious oriental food, “La Piscina” restaurant that serves distinctive Italian dishes, “Wave Pool” restaurant to serve various international cuisine, and “Miramar” restaurant to serve international cuisine. The hotel also has 3 outdoor swimming pools, one for children, a wellness and spa center, and a fitness center.

The resort is located on a top with a height of approximately 40 feet, with a view of the Red Sea and the Lagoon. This resort is also surrounded by desert plains, and overlooks the “Karl Litten” golf course.

The hotel includes deluxe rooms, suites, apartments of various sizes, including one, two, or three rooms, villas and a golf course.

In addition to the “Dunes” restaurant, which serves international and local cuisine, “Piazza” restaurant for international food, “Crumbs” café for snacks, baked goods and drinks, and “MINT Bar & Lounge” for serving various drinks.

The resort features a private beach that extends to a distance of one and a half kilometers (1500 meters), and is distinguished by its unique Swiss designs.

The hotel includes 420 rooms and suites with distinctive views of the Red Sea, lakes, and gardens, in addition to providing wheelchairs for its visitors and 15 accessible rooms. These rooms and suites include classic rooms with garden views, deluxe rooms with lagoon views, family rooms with lagoon views, and deluxe suites.

In addition to “Palavrion” restaurant for serving international cuisine, “El Sayadin” restaurant for seafood, “Oasis Pool Restaurant & Bar” for snacks and drinks, “Gallery Restaurant & Bar” for distinctive Italian food, and “Ali Baba Oriental Corner”. The hotel also includes a conference center that can accommodate 500 people, children’s clubs, a wellness and spa center, and a diving center.

The resort is an ideal destination for golf lovers, due to the beautiful sunshine there, it was designed by the famous American architect “Michael Graves”.

The hotel includes 268 rooms and suites that vary between superior rooms with garden views, deluxe rooms with views of the lagoon, golf or swimming pools, junior suites with views of the lagoon, golf course, gardens or swimming pools, and Steigenberger suites with views of the swimming pools or gardens.

In addition to “Fairways” restaurant for international food, “Harumaki” restaurant for Asian food and drinks, “Lagoon Terrace” bar for snacks and drinks, “Lobby Bar”, “Hole 19”, “Green Bar” and “Golf View”.
